Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are not only good, they are necessary.
Unfortunately, many people look at DEI as giving certain people special treatment, primarily due to their race. DEI is nothing more or less than giving everyone a level playing field. This is something that was lacking in America for centuries. In Maine, we will not return to a society where prejudice and discrimination are accepted. If elected governor, I will appoint an individual to oversee DEI in all state departments with a goal of maximizing diversity, equity and inclusion in Maine’s government. I will also support and encourage efforts to maximize DEI in Maine’s public and private sectors. There will be no place for discrimination or hate in my administration. They will not be tolerated.
I promise to lead by example. I will strongly encourage others to do the same. There is a poison called HATE spreading across America. The antidote is LOVE.
